2021 Ford F-150 Brings the Comfort of Home to the Driver Seat

The 2021 Ford F-150 went on sale in November. America's pickup truck is now in its 14th generation, and Ford keeps finding new ways to keep the F-series in the top spot for the "best-selling pickup truck" in the U.S. This latest version of the blue oval workhorse paid close attention to the interior and gave the 2021 F-150 new features designed to make workdays behind the wheel feel more like home. Here are just some of the new optional features and changes on the 2021 Ford F-150.

According to Ford, customers said they did not want a push-button or rotary selector as a gear shifter. All they wanted was a simple, straight-forward, PRNDL lever on the console – like the old days.

New for 2021, the Ford F-150 can be equipped with a fold-out workspace tray located in the center console cubby. To avoid having the gear lever getting in the way, Ford added a silver button located on the P indicator. Pressing it sends the shifter down into the console, leaving a flush, flat surface to place the tray over. The idea being that F-series drivers can now set a laptop or tablet and turn the truck interior into a mobile office.

A new option for the 2021 Ford F-150 is the Max Recline Seats. These power buckets turn your truck cabin into a snooze pod. More than just a leather car seat that reclines flat, Ford engineers put effort into creating a seat that bridges the gap between a desk chair and a Lazy Boy recliner.

As the seat reclines, the back seat cushion is raised by up to 3.5-inches for lower back support, and the shoulder cushion is also extended to support the neck. How long before this option becomes standard on all pickup trucks?

The 2021 Ford F-150 interior is equipped with a Bang & Olufsen stereo to enjoy tunes and podcasts. New on the F-150 are built-in audio vents in the headrests to deliver a surround sound experience. The 2021 F-150 features a 12-inch infotainment touch-screen capable of displaying two panes of information simultaneously. A simple swipe on the screen can change screens without using buttons or going back to the main menu.

One subtle but meaningful interior detail is a set of American flag etchings featured on either side of the dashboard that can be seen when you open the door. This is seen as a thank you letter from the 4,400 American autoworkers building the F-150 at Ford's Dearborn Truck Plant.

Headrest with audio speakers, a work desk center console, and nap-ready seats can only be missing one thing – XPEL PRIME XR PLUS ™ window tint. Block the heat and savor the privacy PRIME XR PLUS window tint can deliver to your car or truck regardless of the make, model, or year.

PRIME XR PLUS is a 1.5 mil film with a proprietary blend of ceramic particles acting as a barrier to block 98% of infrared heat and 99% of harmful UV rays while providing SPF 1,000 protection.
