Corporate Tax Manager

Summary

XPEL, Inc. (NASDAQ: XPEL), a leading supplier of protective films and coatings , is currently seeking a Corporate Tax Director for its San Antonio, TX corporate headquarters. We are seeking a high-performing professional who demonstrates a strong, comprehensive knowledge of tax accounting and tax regulations as they apply to a complex U.S. multinational company and is willing to work from the ground up. The manager will complete, direct and oversee activities of the organization's domestic and international tax function and lead the execution of the organization's global corporate tax strategy. This role will interact with senior finance leaders of the organization and be the liaison with multiple levels of management and staff to coordinate the flow of information between various functions, while also providing leadership, guidance and assistance for tax-related issues for the Company. The right candidate will look forward to completing all processes directly and also assist in the hiring and training of a tax accountant.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare research and analysis of domestic and international tax issues about transactions and planning initiatives
  • Review and assist in preparation of federal and state tax returns
  • Review and assist in preparation of US sales tax returns
  • Review and assist in preparation of international compliance returns
  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax provision
  • Review and assist in tax footnote preparation to comply with accounting standards
  • Review and assist in preparation of domestic and international estimated tax payments
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with multi-national transfer pricing requirements
  • Review and analyze potential business combination transaction for tax efficient execution
  • Review and prepare quarterly computations under US international tax provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act
  • Maintain ownership of tax internal controls and related updates
  • Coordinate with external tax firms for the efficient delivery of services
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Accounting or Equivalent with Masters preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive corporate tax experience with exposure to complex U.S. multinational company preferred.
  • 8+ years of direct management of corporate tax experience
  • CPA certification required
  • International tax background
  • Big 4 public accounting background preferred
  • Experience working in Netsuite software preferred
  • Problem solving mentality; ability to research complex problems with minimal direction
  • Enjoys completing the work from the ground up and also reviewing the work of others as both will be required
