Putting ULTIMATE to the Test: Jeep Jamboree highlights the benefits of XPEL Paint Protection

Earlier this year we teamed up with Jeep Jamboree to protect a Wrangler Rubicon with XPEL ULTIMATE clear bra before the start of the 2017 tour. After making the trek across the United States, they decided to remove some of the film to see how it had held up along the way. If you're unfamiliar with ULTIMATE paint protection, check out the video from Jeep Jamboree below & see the results for yourself. HITTING THE TRAIL WITH JEEP JAMBOREE We didn't get a chance to experience the Jeep Jamboree first hand this year, but judging from the photos on their Facebook page, it looked like an incredible series of events. They toured some of the coolest off-road parks & locales the US has to offer, taking in the sights & sounds of the great outdoors. A little mudding here, a little rock crawling there, and trails aplenty. If you're a Jeep fan, put Jamboree up high on your to-do list. The 2018 tour dates & stops are available online, and registration is open. As the tour made its rounds, they even had participants leave signatures behind on top of our ULTIMATE paint protection film. With such strong stain resistance, there's no need to worry about damaging the paint underneath. For that matter, the permanent ink will wipe right off with a little bit of isopropyl alcohol and a rag. WRAPPING THE WRANGLER AT XPEL SAN ANTONIO Incase you missed it, we put together an install montage of the Jeep Jamboree Wrangler when it visited our headquarters in San Antonio. Coverage is pretty customizable when it comes to XPEL paint protection packages. We recommend having the film installed on any high impact areas, or really anywhere that might be susceptible to scratches. If you're looking to retain a high-gloss finish, there's no better solution than XPEL ULTIMATE. Interest in a more unique approach to your Jeep's exterior aesthetics? XPEL STEALTH satin finish paint protection has you covered. Pop over to the product pages for more information, and as always, don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. Thanks for reading & see you on the trails in 2018! __________________________ PHOTOS & VIDEO TESTIMONIAL COURTESY OF THE JEEP JAMBOREE FACEBOOK PAGE

Porsche Panamera 4S gets ULTIMATE Protection from JK2 Detailing

As some of our readers may recall, back in August we took a trip to Spokane, Washington for PCA's Porsche Parade. During our brief stay in the Pacific NorthWest, we payed a visit to JK2 Detailing to see if we could swing an install video. Lucky for us, as the provider of XPEL products for Porsche of Spokane, the guys at JK2 have protected quite a few of Stuttgart's finest. The subject we set our sights on was none other than a gorgeous Sapphire Blue Metallic Porsche Panamera 4s.   With such a stunning exterior finish, XPEL ULTIMATE is a must. Check out the montage above for some highlights of our time with the Panamera & a few other beauties from Porsche of Spokane. ULTIMATE Protection for Porsche's Super Saloon Once the car arrived from the dealership, the guys set to work prepping the Porsche Panamera 4S for ULTIMATE installation. JK2 equipped the Panamera with full frontal coverage including the entire hood, fenders, and bumper, as well as lower rockers & mirrors. This level of install offers optimal protection for the Porsche's front facing high impact areas. With the clear bra application all buttoned up, the 4S received a final quality check before hitting the road back to the dealership. Of course, as you may have seen in the video, we made a slight detour for a quick photoshoot. Panamera & Friends on Patrol If you're not familiar with the Porsche Panamera 4S, here's a brief rundown. Even for a big body P-car, it's still quick on its feet. Pushing up 440hp, the jump from 0-60 can be had in a measly 4.2 seconds. It'll top out just shy of 180mph, and grips aplenty thanks to its AWD drivetrain. Styling is subtle and distictly Porsche in appearance. The front fascia is indicative of current 911 aesthetics. The Panamera 4S also sports similar forked side mirrors, and an active rear spoiler for added downforce at speed. As luck would have it, the team at JK2 Detailing had a couple other specimens from Porsche of Spokane on hand. We had to take the opportunity to snap some family photos. Spending a little time with this ULTIMATE protected trio was the perfect ending to our Eastern Washington adventure. Of course, it couldn't have been possible without our friends from JK2. If you're local & in need of protection for your Porsche, don't hesitate to look them up! XDC18 On the Horizon Incase you have't heard, XPEL Dealer Conference is nearly upon us. Space is filling up quick, and it's shaping up to be one of our biggest events yet. Start 2018 off with a bang & get registered for Dealer Conference today. Click here to visit the sign up page, or reach out to your rep directly for more information. See you at XDC18!

YasMadness, to be precise.   The BMW M4 piloted by Hunter Evans can be seen roaming the coastline & cayons on the daily. We sat down with Hunter to talk about growing up in Malibu, Cali living, and where his infamous Bimmer gets its name. IN SEARCH OF YASTOPIA For Hunter, the yearn for BMW ownership began in high school. While his friends daily'd E92s and 135s, he made the trek in a rather sluggish Hummer H3. Malibu is brimming with car culture of all varieties, so the thirst for something more was real from the start. Of course, good things take time. While whipping the H3, Hunter set his sights on the M4. Once he acquired it, everything else seemed to fall into place. "When you're surrounded by it as a kid, it's the norm. When that becomes the norm, it's what you work towards as an innate desire." And for many automotive enthusiasts, this mentality rings true. We pine for a sense of belonging & serenity that one can attain from driving the perfect car on the open road. "Multiple friends got BMWs as their first cars - it was the only brand that I really wanted. It's just a dream come true to have this finally." No doubt, achieving drivable utopia is a goal worth chasing. NOT SAFE FOR MALIBU If you're not familiar with the YasMadness M4. you might mistake it for a factory frozen BMW. Thanks to Auto Armour in San Diego, the Yas Marina finish got frosted with the kind of satin sheen only XPEL STEALTH PPF can provide. With Malibu as a backdrop, Hunter's BMW turns heads as quick as it turns corners. The factor carbon roof & aftermarket accents remain glossy as ever thanks to ULTIMATE clear bra as well. For an added bump of power, the M4 received everything under the sun and then some from DINAN. The car made it to SEMA for two consecutive years finding its home in the DINAN booth, and even managed to get recognized by the good people at MotorTrend for being a "top tuner car" of 2015. "I was just floored. I never imagined being on a MOTORTREND top anything list."   To finish off the look, custom painted HRE P101s fill out the M4's arches in style with performance to match. Whether it's prowling PCH or perched on a turnout overlooking the coastline, the YasMadness M4 is well equipped for California living. "This car has been life changing." Understandibly so. The M4 ranks pretty high on the list of "cars we'd like to have in our dream garage," and after experiencing the madness of Yas first hand, we're definitely hungry for more. Follow the Madness Spending time in the 'Bu with Hunter and YasMadness was an experience we won't soon forget. In a world of keyboard warriors and fervent purists, his friendly, approachable nature & enthusiasm for BMW ownership was incredibly refreshing. If you haven't yet, pop over to the Yastagram for an inside look at one of the Internet's favorite M4s. ___________________________________ Special thanks to Evan & the team at Auto Armour for a fantastic STEALTH install on Hunter's M4. The 2017 International Window Film Conference in West Palm Beach

A few weeks before we brought a Bugatti Chiron to SEMA in Las Vegas, we found ourselves in West Palm Beach. Window Film Mag kicked off the annual International Window Film Conference & Tint-Off, and as a Diamond Plus sponsor, you know we had to bring the heat. Beyond XDC, International Window Film Conference & Tint-Off is one of the few events dedicated entirely to the film industry. In its 17th year, the WFCT has grown in scope & scale, highlighting the latest product releases, informational seminars, and an intense install competition. Velos Design Works McLaren 570S on Display at the XPEL Booth Thanks to our friends from The Sign Savers in Miami, we were lucky to have another awesome vehicle on display. Wrapped & protected with ULTIMATE clear bra, the Velos Design Works McLaren 570S was a serious attention grabber. Pushing an excess of 560HP with a top speed just north of 200mph, there's no denying that the papaya orange 570S was the most high performance ride on the floors of WFCT. The other stars of the International Window Film Conference were, you guessed it: our new window films! Along with the soft launch of our VISION Architectural Line, many attendees had a chance to play with PRIME. Offering incredible UV protection & heat rejection, PRIME XR is a serious contender for anyone seeking a high performance window tint option. The Window Film Mag team caught up with our very own Eric Keller to touch briefly on both products in a Day 1 video recap - check out the full clip here. VISION: A New Outlook on Architectural Window Films Just as PRIME is rapidly becoming a go-to for automotive tinters around the world, our VISION series seeks to take the flat glass industry by storm. With an array of architectural glass solutions available, the VISION portfolio is diverse. Need safety or security film? We've got you covered. Searching for a decorative or anti-graffiti application? Look no further. Our VISION series can give you a new outlook on architectural film like no other. Head over to the product page for more info or request a spec sheet today. The Paint Protection Competition and Tint-Off Of course, it wouldn't be the International Window Film Conference without an install competition. There were a handful of XPEL supporters in the WFCT showdown this year, and a few even made it to the finals. Shout out to Jameel from ACE Custom Signs & Dustin from MidWest Tinting for putting XPEL products at the forefront of the competition, and congrats to Andrew & Kyle from Oz Braz for bringing home the gold! Rightfully so, workmanship & finish quality will always supersede brand rivalries. As one of the judges of the PPF installation competition, lead trainer & installation specialist Alex Valencia made sure only the top qualifiers continued on. ONE CONFERENCE TO RULE THEM ALL Miss out on competing during the WFCT? There's another showdown on the horizon. The 2018 XPEL Dealer Conference is coming up, and we've got a competition in the works that will test the limits of any installer. Head over to xpel.com/dealerconference & get your entry locked in before it's too late.

Corvette Funfest 2017 at Mid America Motorworks with Clear Auto Bra

Shortly after our trip to PA for Corvettes At Carlisle, we made our way to Effingham, Illinois. Home to Mid America Motorworks, Effingham is another small town, much like Carlisle, that's prone to bowtie invasion. Corvette Funfest 2017 was no exception. With thousands of cars on the lawns of MAM, "the largest Corvette party in the world" was a celebration of Chevy's most beloved sports coupe. Corvette Funfest at Mid America Motorworks If you're not familiar with Corvette Funfest, let us fill you in with a brief history lesson. Back in the early 90's, the Mid America Motorworks team organized a laid-back Vette meet as a 'thank you' to customers & supporters. What started as 1,200 cars rapidly grew in numbers, filling up the MAM campus & rising in the ranks as a 'must attend' for many Vette enthusiasts. Honoring the 50th Anniversary of the '67 Stingray, Corvette Funfest 2017 had something for everyone. Activities included road tours, drag racing, live music, tech sessions, and everything in between. IN THE INSTALL DOME WITH CLEAR AUTO BRA Of course, much like past Funfests, you could find Team XPEL in the Install Dome. With the help of our good friends from Clear Auto Bra, we set to work equipping a wide variety of Vettes with ULTIMATE paint protection packages. Working under pressure is never easy, but the guys from Clear Auto Bra exercised practiced precision as crowds looked onward. There's no doubt that the Corvette is one of our most popular models for protection, and the interest was strong as ever this year. Kit after kit, car after car, each and every Vette at Funfest that needed protection received it. SPREADING THE XPEL GOSPEL For the last few days of Funfest, we hosted a protection-centric seminar along with a Q & A session. Lucky for us, Clear Auto Bra let us borrow their Z06 to lure in attendees. We kept it short & sweet, touching briefly on the self-healing powers of ULTIMATE paint protection, film care, and the benefits of paint preservation. A few seminar participants even took home some complimentary microfiber towels! HITTING THE ROAD As Corvette Funfest 2017 came to a close, a window of opportunity opened. The roads around Mid America Motorworks had emptied out enough that we had a little room for rollers with Clear Auto Bra's two C7s. Utilizing the space available and a golf cart loaned to us by the show organizers, we got in a few passes down the back stretch as the clouds started to roll in. All in all, Funfest was another epic event for Team XPEL. It's always great to be around some of our biggest fans, and even better when you have awesome installers on hand to make the magic happen. Big thanks to the team at Clear Auto Bra for their efforts - see you all at Corvette Funfest 2018! DON'T SLEEP ON DEALER CONFERENCE For those who may have missed out on Corvettes at Carlisle or Corvette Funfest 2017, we've got you covered. XPEL Dealer Conference is just around the corner, and it's going to be the biggest yet. XDC18 features an array of business luminaries who can help you grow your operation, happy hour with XPEL team members, and much, much more. Some of our attendees last year said it was even better than SEMA! Ready to register for XDC18? Head over to xpel.com/dealerconference & get signed up while there's still space available.

Corvettes at Carlisle 2017 with Rose Detailing, ACAP Films, Blackout Tinting, and Detail Authority

As summer came to a close, we made our way out to Carlisle, Pennsylvania for the annual Corvettes at Carlisle show. If you're not familiar with [email protected], it's touted as one of the largest Corvette-centric events in the world. With upwards of 5,000 Vettes in attendance there's no shortage of bowties in Carlisle come August. Corvettes at Carlisle 2017 didn't disappoint. VETTES FOR MILES For the initiated, Corvettes at Carlisle can be a bit overwhelming. The fairgrounds seem to go on for miles. Walking the endless rows of Vettes, it's easy to get turned around and lose track of time with so much to see. Lucky for us, the bright XPEL tent stood out like a Racing Yellow beacon of protection. Of course, it helped that we were also accompanied by Lance Miller's very own Carlisle Blue ZR1. Protected with ULTIMATE clear bra, this well-known sky blue beauty still looks as good as it did the day it drove off the lot. By the numbers, there's somewhere around 11 Carlisle Blue ZR1s in existence, so we were very lucky to have the vehicle on display again for 2017. ON-SITE INSTALLS WITH ULTIMATE & PRIME Much like past Corvettes at Carlisle shows, the booth was set up with installation in mind. With the help of Rose Detailing, ACAP Films, Blackout Tinting, and Detail Authority, [email protected] participants received the best XPEL products right on site. As the days went on, cars lined up at the back of the tent for ULTIMATE coverage & PRIME XR window film. Our dealers worked around the clock to ensure each Vette received the best protection possible. We received a lot of praise for their efforts, and truly we couldn't have done it without them. Multiple installs a day non-stop for hours on end can take a toll, but these guys put in work to make sure everyone was well taken care of. Corvettes at Carlisle Video Recap Want to see more of the happenings of [email protected] in action? Check out the video recap for a little bit of everything you may have missed. Burnouts, bikinis, and just about every type of Vette imaginable can be seen gracing the fairgrounds. DON'T MISS OUT ON THE NEXT XPEL EXTRAVAGANZA If you haven't had a chance to team up with us at a local event, open house, or car show, there's another opportunity coming up. In February we'll be hosting XDC18, our exclusive dealer-only conference at the home of all things XPEL, San Antonio. It's going to be unlike any Dealer Conference we've hosted before, with a brand new location, engaging breakout sessions, and unique keynote presentations. Sound up your ally? We Brought a Bugatti Chiron to SEMA 2017

HELLBEE: THE ULTIMATE BOOTH BABE When most people think of the Specialty Equipment Market Association, their mind is awash with widebody kits, neon lights, and generally out-of-this-world automotive customization. For SEMA 2017, we went a different route. A rather expensive route. Quite possibly, the most expensive, clocking in just shy of $4 million USD. If you came through the North Hall, you couldn't miss it - we were the booth with the bright yellow Bugatti Chiron. Completely covered with ULTIMATE clear bra by Protective Film Solutions, the Hell Bee Chiron was an absolute show stopper. It drew crowds all week long, and for many SEMA attendees, it was the first time they'd seen one in person. Our second feature vehicle to grace the booth was none other than a STEALTH wrapped McLaren 720S. Equipped with PRIME XR 35 and XR 70 window film on the sides & front, the 720S was a stunning showcase of XPEL technology. Check out the spec sheets below for more details on both of our SEMA 2017 feature vehicles.   SEMA 2017 VIDEO RECAP   If you're not into browsing the photo gallery above, we've got a brief video mashup highlighting some of our favorites from the show as well. Take a look for a glimpse at the Hennessey Venom F5, Ken Block's Hoonicorn, the widebody Vossen GTI RS and many more.   EXCLUSIVE XPEL AFTER PARTY AT THE PALMS The venue for our SEMA 2017 customer appreciation party got a bit of an upgrade as well. Located off the strip at The Palms, The View was spacious & vivacious with plenty of room to get comfortable while taking in the expanse of Las Vegas below. With drinks flowing & plenty of small bites in circulation, The View shaped up to be a great spot for bringing everyone together. If you missed out on this time around, there's always XPEL Dealer Conference! HONORABLE MENTIONS Beyond the Bugatti & McLaren, there were quite a few other XPEL protected vehicles at SEMA 2017. Among them, Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s STEALTH wrapped "Ultimate Funhaver" F-150. We managed to hitch a ride around the skidpad on the last day of SEMA, and was a highlight of the week. SEMA 2017 IN CLOSING Without a doubt, the 2017 SEMA Show was an awesome experience. The cars were as crazy as ever and we had a blast getting to see a little bit of everything that the industry has to offer. If you missed out this year, be sure to follow along with us on facebook & instagram for the latest event coverage as it unfolds. GEAR UP FOR XDC18 Bummed about missing our party at The Palms? Then don't sleep on #XDC18. February is just around the corner and that can only mean one thing: the return of XPEL Dealer Conference. Next year will be better than ever with a brand new location, an intense installation competition, unique guest speakers & more. Interested? Pop over to xpel.com/dealerconference/ to get registered, and don't hesitate to reach out to your rep with any questions or concerns. See you at XPEL Dealer Conference 2018!

PCA Porsche Parade 2017 – Spokane, Washington

Of all the p-car centric happenings, there are few as established as the PCA's Parade event. Dating back as far as 1956, Porsche Parade is a stuttcar spectacle that's been around longer than the 911 itself. With a Concours d'Elegance, banquets galore, autocross, a 5k run and more, there's plenty to experience at Parade for all ages. This year marked the 62nd year of Parade & our 4th year in attendance. Between goldRush stopping through & Porsche Parade, Spokane never knew what hit 'em. Check out our quick video recap to see what you may have missed. Not a bad way to spend a week in Washington, right? Well, there's plenty more where that came from. Experiencing Porsche Parade 2017 Nearly every model of Porsche imaginable found its way to this year's Parade. Of course, we came prepared as well. With the help of JK2 Detailing, we outfitted our display with an ULTIMATE equipped 911 Carrera S from Porsche of Spokane. During the first half of the event, they roped off a beautiful 918 for a lobby display. Luckily enough, as the event unfolded we found it unguarded in an adjacent hallway. A few other red cars were visible around the hospitality & vendor hall, but one stood out among the rest. Little did we know, an unveiling was in order for the night of the Pirelli Welcome Party. Shortly after the opening remarks, Porsche rolled out a brand new GT3. The car later found its way to the Concours lawn, before finally resting in the hotel. PCA Concours d'Elegance at Riverfront Park We awoke on Monday to the sounds of flat 6s making their way to Riverfront Park as the PCA Concours began. The sheer variety on display for the concours was mind boggling. From Boxsters to Caymans, RSs and beyond, it didn't disappoint. Porsche had their own manufacturer's line up featuring the new GT3 among others. With plenty of freebies & all sorts of cool branded merchandise to check out, we hopped in line to see what was up for grabs. The swag bags were bountiful with brochures, stickers, keychains and then some. The hot ticket item though was a pair of complimentary Tequipment sunglasses. While the judges made their rounds, we perused the park to photograph a few of our favorites. Among them was an exceptionally clean 912 with a unique polished roof rack. Nearly every model imaginable was present, from a Porsche tractor to a rare black 959. Rows of 356s, 911s, 912s, and Carreras seemed to never end. From what we heard, the dedicated participants of the Concours had tolled late into the previous evening prepping, and it showed with many immaculate vehicles. Legends of the Autocross Among the various driving tours & road rallies, the autocross event is a must on Porsche Parade. Held over a two day period in a large lot near Spokane County Raceway, autocross brought out a crowd. The staging lanes appeared to be largely dominated by Caymans and Carreras, but the lot featured a little bit of everything. In particular, a gorgeous Yachting Blue GT3 RS caught our eye. Clocking in a lap at 37.552, it pulled the quickest time for its class. Delicious Dinners & Banquets Galore After the activities wound down each day, it was time to break away from the XPEL display & socialize. This year's Porsche Parade featured five distinct evening banquets. With a variety of plated & buffet style menus, each evening was a treat. Of course, one of our favorites was the taco bar at the Michelin Late Apex AutoCross Banquet. Between the Hospitality Hall and Convention Center, the evenings were well spent with good food in good company. The banquets also highlighted an array of display vehicles. One in particular that stood out was a brand new Boxster wearing a Sport Classic Grey paint job. Each banquet was accompanied with awards & door prizes from the day's activities or event sponsors. We gave away some Tracwrap temporary protective film, and one lucky person even won an ULTIMATE install. It's always a pleasure getting to know more PCA members and the Parade's banquets were a great opportunity to do so. We're still "new" attendees compared to many of the Parade's lifers, but they welcomed us with open arms regardless. Porsches on Patrol - Parading Around Spokane Of course, it wouldn't be a Porsche Parade without an actual Parade. On the final day of our stay with PCA, we met up at the Spokane Fairgrounds to see all the cars assemble. The stream of Porsches entering the fairgrounds seemed to go on for miles. Auto crossers and Concours participants alike arrived one by one, ready for the 13 mile caravan through Spokane. Having a police escort through downtown was an awesome way to cap off our week at Porsche Parade, especially when riding in style. As luck would have it, we hitched a ride with PCA's Executive Director Vu Nguyen in a brand new Panamera GTS. With the comfort & speed of a private jet, the Panamera ferried us down Spokane Falls Boulevard. As we closed the gap on the Davenport Grand, a small crowd formed outside to cheer on the Parade's participants. All in all our 4th year at Porsche Parade was as wonderful an experience as ever. It's estimated that somewhere around 2,500 PCA members made it out to Washington, and we can't wait to see them all again at Lake of the Ozarks in 2018. Thanks for reading, and check out the full photo gallery below! Porsche Parade 2017 Photo Gallery

Barrett-Jackson North East 2017 with Automobilia Auto Salon

Last week marked our second year at the Mohegan Sun & the third Barrett-Jackson of 2017. With a wide variety of vehicles on display and a unique auction layout, Barrett-Jackson North East was exciting as ever. Of course, having something special in our booth always helps too! On Location at Barrett-Jackson North East with a Shelby GT350R While the Scottsdale, West Palm, and Vegas auctions feature various display halls & tents, the Mohegan Sun show is a bit more confined. In any case, a large event space is being constructed to house the show in coming years. By the time 2018 rolls around, the scale of Barrett-Jackson North East will be massive. Be that as it may, we arrived roaring to go. Our friends from Automobilia Auto Salon helped secure an awesome vehicle for the show. Incidentally, our booth's position was at the edge of the Chevy display, but of course, we brought out a Blue Oval. None other than one stunning Shelby GT350R. Equipped with full front ULTIMATE paint protection, the GT350R was an attention getter. In any case, the real surprise for attendees came from the ULTIMATE self-healing demonstration. Many people at the show were familiar with XPEL products, but few had experienced them first hand. With a few swipes of a wire brush, ULTIMATE's powers wowed the crowds. Demons, Warbirds, and Carbon, Oh My! Despite Barrett-Jackson being auction centric, manufacturer booths have quite the draw. The big three were all in attendance with a variety of models, but Dodge and Ford seemed to be the main contenders. All things considered, we could have spent all day starring down the Dodge Demon Challenger. It was the first time any of us had seen one up close, and it's definitely a looker. The massive air grabber and supercharger. The bulbous fenders & distinct badging. The meaty Nitto NT05R tires. No doubt, the Demon Challenger's approach is not for the faint of heart. Outside the main pavilion, Ford was showing off one of its latest & greatest as well. Stunning as ever, the new Ford GT spun on its carousel wearing a brilliant silver finish with exposed carbon stripes. The stripe wasn't the only bit of exposed carbon work either. It was a bit hard to spot from the edge of the velvet ropes, but the Ford GT's wheels were optioned in bare carbon fiber. Weighing in a full two pounds lighter than the forged aluminum variant, the carbon wheels are functionally gorgeous. They add an extra $15k to the GT's sticker price, but will reduce rolling inertia by a whopping 25 percent. At any rate, that's money well spent. A few steps away, a second R sat parallel to a no-stripe GT350. The R looked great dressed in all black with matte stripes, and the standardized Shelby was no slouch. Inside, the brand new 2018 Mustang GT wore white as well. With a little extra aero & a blacked out grill, the white GT stood out much better than the drop top that was at Palm Beach. Our friends at ROUSH Performance held down the corner of the main pavilion with a few beauties too. Most notably, their new P-51 Mustang. Inspired by the famous warbird of its namesake, the ROUSH P-51 is putting the Hellcat on notice. Pushing a whopping 727 HP, the special edition 'Stang is the most powerful American pre-titled car ever built. According to ROUSH, only 51 will enter production with a retail price of $42,500 over the base 2017 Mustang GT. There may have not been as many exotics up for auction as previous Barrett-Jacksons, but the few in attendance didn't disappoint. A new Ferrari 488 Spider was on site and later sold for a whopping $434 thousand and change. Along side it, a Mercedes SLR McLaren and a few of Lamborghini's finest waited their turn to cross the blocks. Ironically, one of the most unique cars on display at Barrett-Jackson North East wasn't for sale. We spotted it on the way in during our setup day, but didn't know it would be in attendance. Sprayed with a unique shade of Lamborghini Arancio, a highly modified FD3S RX-7 took many show goers by surprise. At a glance, one might even mistake it for a kit car thanks to rare RE-Amemiya bodywork & a Porsche front end conversion. In all actuality, the FD was a 2016 SEMA Super Street Top Honors winner. Around the grounds Beyond the main sponsor displays, the buzz of Barrett-Jackson North East continued. Quite a few of our fellow vendors has brought out some exceptional examples to ogle at. The cars up for auction in the main tent were as diverse as previous events. We spotted quite a few off-roaders from classic FJs to Jeeps, Land Rovers, and even one monster truck. A variety of Porsches were also up for grabs, along with a white on white Nissan R32. As usual, Chevy, Dodge, and Ford were throwing down with a selection of ride & drive events. It would have been nice to see a live demo of the Demon Challenger, but we're guessing Mohegan Sun has a safety clause against popping wheelies. Another favorite from Barrett-Jackson North East came from none other than Callaway Cars. The Corvette Aerowagen is a polarizing design no doubt, but we fell in love at first sight. Even Chris Jacobs seemed intrigued. After all, it's a modern day shooting brake with the performance numbers to back it up. The Aerowagen blends everything awesome about a C7 with a feel that's reminiscent of the late, great, CTS-V estate. Is it sacrilege to wish it had a roof box & air suspension? Perhaps. Either way, the want is strong. A Parking Garage Presentation Bound for the Blocks In addition to the auction cars outside the main hall, there was quite a bit to see housed in the Mohegan Sun garage. Comprised of around 4 floors of display vehicles, the setup made navigating the auction's lots a breeze.   We spotted a fine selection of classic BMWs in the garage. An exceptional example of the 4-door E36 M3 sat in the shadows of the bottom floor with less than 30k on the clock. A few floors up, a clean 1980 635 CSI & vintage 1800 looked as OEM as ever. Between a Fiat Jolly Custom, a few Minis and an Amphicar, there was no shortage of microcars either. The Jolly had a lot of personality, and the crowds loved it. Of the three, it tipped the docket just shy of a $43k sale price. Lot diversity is becoming a strong trait for the auction series. The events might be more catered towards a collector car audience, but there's truly something for everyone. Even John Deere made an appearance at Barrett-Jackson North East. A handful of exotics has found their way into the Mohegan garage as well. Among them was a well kept Ferrari 348 TS accompanied by a black F430 Spider a couple spaces away. In addition to the stallions, DuPont Registry was showing off an absolute stunner. A brand new McLaren 720S sitting pretty with the doors up, finished in a unique pearl grey with tan hides. We're big fans of the 720, so it was great to get up close with one outside of an install bay. At the top of the garage along an outer corridor, we stumbled upon another set of R's. A '92 GT-R and anther Shelby GT350-R to be precise. The all silver Nissan had plenty of desirable upgrades without going overboard. Of course, the Mustang looked great finished in XPEL Yellow too! After a short walk through the casino, we found our way to the auction blocks. Even though we didn't arrive during prime time, the energy inside the Mohegan Sun Arena was electric. With upper level seats filled & bids flying, we caught as much of the action as we could before heading back to the booth. Wrapping Up Barrett-Jackson North East Ultimately, our trip to Barrett-Jackson North East was an enjoyable one. We had a great time with the team from Automobilia Auto Salon, and their assistance in educating the public about XPEL was fundamental. While we won't be in attendance at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas this year, we've already got it on our list for 2018. If we're lucky, maybe we'll even wind up with a new Ford GT or Demon of our very own to show off in the XPEL booth!   XPEL at Barrett-Jackson North East - Full Photo Gallery

Accelerating gR8tness: The Origins of @PetrolGirl

VEHICLE SPECS & MODIFICATIONS 2012 Audi R8 V10 Full Front XPEL ULTIMATE Paint Protection from Protective Film Solutions Vorsteiner Wheels Trim Blackout Package from GI Automotive Group GMG Racing Exhaust   Accelerating gR8tness In our latest Customer Spotlight, we meet up with the most influential lady of the internet automotive world. The one & only PetrolGirl, Ms. Aimee Shackelford. Filmed on location at Protective Film Solutions, we sat down with Aimee to talk cars, family, and discover the origins of her widely recognized web handle. Take a look! From Car Spotting to Trend Spotting Aimee's interest in automotive began at an early age. Growing up, it was stories of track days that got passed down from family members. Her great uncles built sprint midget racers back in the 40s & 50s. Like many car fanatics, the Petrolgirl started spotting cars with her dad, and the rest is history. To learn the true origins of Aimee's Petrolgirl name, one must fast forward to the rise of social media. Right around the launch of Instagram on the very first goldRush Rally, a kid approached her. "You're the Petrolgirl. You love cars, you're all about cars." And it's true. The title stuck, and her personal brand has grown forth from it. At this point, it's evolved beyond the bounds of an ordinary screen name. "Most people don't even know my name's Aimee" she jokes. That said, the decision to run with the name was a brilliant one. It's wide recognizable. Embodying Petrolgirl created an easy avenue for promoting her work within Cali car culture & the world at large. Hard Work Pays Off Aimee's introduction to the industry started with a popular automotive forum, Luxury4Play.com. In 2008. She joined the site as an enthusiast with no exotic ownership, and members took her in as one of their own. As she became more established, the site's owners approached her to see if she could help them find sponsorship opportunities. Without hesitation, she set to work. At first, the numbers were in single digits. By the end of the year, around 100 brands were on-board thanks to Aimee's efforts. Upon securing sponsors for the forum's founders, she decided to bring Luxury4Play to Facebook. With the launch of fan pages, she soon realized she had a serious knack for growing things on social media. The potential for further opportunities with even bigger brands was evident, and Social Bolt was born. As a consultancy for marketing & promotions, Social Bolt grew rapidly from a mere four clients to a whopping thirty two - and it's all cars. "This is a dream job for me." #GoldBlooded Since the Beginning The phenomenon that is goldRush rally began much smaller than many may realize. Near the end of 2008, the Luxury4Play collective decided to organize an official drive. At the time, the rally was a group of friends, enjoying their vehicles and the freedom of the open road. Traveling from SF to LA and ending in Las Vegas, the very first goldRush began with a mere 35 cars over 3 days. "It was much smaller & easier to deal with, but it was a lot of fun." Nine years later, the rally has grown to a full nine days in length spanning multiple states & stops. It encompasses two track days, dinners, club nights, and all sorts of antics. The goldRush rally has become something truly larger than life. Many of the rally's participants have been on-board since the beginning, too. With that, the friendships they've developed reach far beyond the nine days they spend driving. Cali Livin' Outside of her life in car world, Aimee focuses on caring for her family & personal health. She's a San Pedro native through & through with roots spanning three generations. With a love of heavy weightlifting, surfing, skiing, and other action sports, the California coast is a perfect backdrop. On top of that, CA's supercar culture is one of the largest in the United States. Aimee would be hard pressed to find a more suitable locale to continue her Petrolgirl pursuits. Of course, as it has for many self-employed go-getters, the support of her family plays a major role in her life. "If it weren't for my Dad I couldn't do anything I do -- without him, none of this would happen." Scarlet Fire Certain vehicles attract people for a variety of reasons. With Aimee's Audi R8, it was a mix of superhero status meets natural progression. After watching the first Iron Man movie, the gears started turning. Tony Stark had sparked her interest. "I have to have this car someday - I need to be Iron Man." As with many auto enthusiasts, ownership is a ladder you work your way up. She decided to retire her BMW M4 and switch from roundels to rings. Now, the V10 R8 is her new everyday supercar. While she still misses the transformative qualities of her BMW, Aimee strives for more. What's next on the list is anyone's guess. A McLaren, koenigsegg, or LaFerrari rank high - but "we'll have to wait for that," she says with a widening smile. Hopefully we wont have to wait too long! Petrolgirl Power All in all, we had a blast on on our 3 day shoot with Aimee. Her insights about the ins & outs of automotive marketing are eye opening. She's a force of nature within the supercar scene, and we couldn't be happier to have her as a supporter of the XPEL brand. If you aren't already, be sure to follow along with her on Instagram for a day-to-day look at all things PetrolGirl. ___________________________________ Special thanks to Ryan & the team at Protective Film Solutions for allowing us to use the shop for the interview segment.
