Last week marked the kick-off of Porsche Club of America's Porsche Parade 2018 at the Lake of the Ozarks. This was our 5th year attending the Parade and no doubt, it was another awesome event.
As always, there was quite the selection of P-cars in attendance and on display. Inside the Tan-Tar-A resort, a rare Speedster variant sat just a few steps away from a Weissach GT2 RS.
Of course, we had something special to show off down in the Hospitality hall as well. None other than a paint-to-sample Zanzibar Red Porsche Boxster Spyder, protected with XPEL ULTIMATE by MidWest Tinting.
PCA Concours at Lake of the Ozarks
One of the most attended events at Porsche Parade 2018 had to be the Concours d'Elegance. Hosted on the greens behind the resort, the Parade Concours failed to disappoint. Nearly every model one could imagine was in attendance.
We spotted a 904 Carrera GTS, a Carrera RS, a Carrera GT, and then some. While the 918 & 959 from last year were absent, there was plenty more to see.
Up Close & Personal with the Mission E
Another big highlight of Porsche Parade 2018 happened at the Pirelli Welcoming Party. After last year's unveiling of the GT3, we were sure that PCA had something special cooked up this time around.
We didn't expect Porsche to bring a prototype, but that's exactly what they did. The pre-production Porsche Mission E concept car which made way for the new Taycan was a great surprise for all Parade goers.
The styling of the Mission E is truly out of this world. One part Stuttgart, one part Tron, and all parts awesome. After seeing it in the flesh, we can't wait to get our hands on a new Taycan.
Michelin Drive & Compare at Porsche Parade
The setup: a short drag race & stop box with identical PDK Caymans. The payoff: bragging rights. In a shootout format taking the best two out of three runs, the Michelin Drive & Compare proved to be an awesome test of reaction time and stopping power. Check out the video below from PCA for a more comprehensive breakdown.
On-Location with the Gunther Werks 400R
After our brief run on gRX & eyeballing the Gulf 400R at Barrett-Jackson Northeast, it was great to see Gunther Werks flagship machine at Porsche Parade 2018. Fully protected with satin STEALTH PPF by Protective Film Solutions, the Gulf livery 400R is a sight to behold.
Built off the 993 chassis, Gunther Werks vision for the 400R is a motorsport inspired masterpiece. Combining plenty of carbon fiber, a 400+ HP 4 liter developed by Rothsport, and much more, Gunther Werks 400R is a bespoke beauty with the enough bite to back up its bark.

XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS & PRIME XR PLUS INSTALLS FROM MIDWEST TINTING
Driving the rough backroads of Missouri in 100 degree heat, parade-goers needed all the help they could get. Fortunately, attendees were able to have vehicles protected with our latest & greatest products. With the help of Midwest Tinting, we offered on-site installs of self-healing ULTIMATE PLUS paint protection along with our heat rejecting PRIME XR PLUS window film.
Looking Towards Porsche Parade Boca Raton
As always, PCA revealed the location for the next Porsche Parade in 2019, and it's a bit more tropical than Missouri. The 64th annual Parade will take place in Boca Raton, Florida, and it's sure to be an extravaganza. If you've never attended Parade before & are a PCA member, 2019 might be your year.
The activities are always a good time, the people are friendly, and the cars, well, you know the cars are amazing. In closing, congrats to all Porsche Parade 2018 award winners, our door prize winners, and big thanks to the PCA's diehard members and volunteers for making it another awesome event. See you in Boca Raton!
Missed out on previous Porsche Parades? Check out our coverage from last year in Spokane, WA featuring a Porsche 911 Turbo protected with XPEL ULTIMATE by JK2 Automotive.
Last month, Mohegan Sun kicked off hosting Barrett-Jackson Northeast. This year marked our third appearance with CT's very own Automobilia Auto Salon. Rest assured, we made our presence known in the new pavilion with none other than a Porsche 911 GT3.
Porsche 911 GT3 with ULTIMATE PLUS Paint Protection & PRIME XR PLUS Window Tint
Tucked in along the wall leading up to the Ford exhibition area sat a bright red beacon of German performance. The Porsche 911 GT3 on display was a true driver's dream. On loan from a private owner's collection, the GT3 had seen its fare share of road time. Sporting ULTIMATE PLUS paint protection film & our top-tier PRIME XR PLUS window tint, the Porsche 911 GT3 was fully equipped to take on the elements with the best XPEL has to offer.
Over the course of the auction, the GT3 drew quite a crowd. With such a high performance vehicle on display, having proper protection is essential. Demonstrating the self-healing power of ULTIMATE PLUS along with the heat rejecting properties of PRIME XR PLUS proved the value & benefits of both products for many Barrett-Jackson attendees.
A Few Favorites from Barrett-Jackson Northeast
As with most every Barrett-Jackson, there are always a few gems amongst the wide variety of vehicles that cross the auction blocks. There were deals to be had along with some incredible charity opportunities this year. As many saw on TV coverage, the final production Dodge Viper & Demon hammered down for a cool $1 million.
We also watched in great surprise as an all original single owner E30 M3 fetched a reasonable $35k. Given the values on these cars and Hagerty estimating prices mid-$60k, coming in under forty thousand seemed like a bargain for the '80s icon.
A few odds & ends also found their way to Barrett-Jackson Northeast. In particular, a funky Scat Rebel Hovercraft from the Ashton Collection sold just shy of $10k. The perfect weekend water toy for an adventurous buyer.
Near the front of the main pavilion there was a show stopper on display in the ACI Dynamix booth. The #Lamborion" - a Lamborghini Performante with a printed chrome wrap featuring an artful take on the Orion Nebula. On top of that, the vinyl is completely protected with XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS, so it can look out of this world for years to come.
Getting a Glimpse of goldRush Rally X
One highlight of Barrett-Jackson Northeast was a quick visit from the goldRush Rally gang as they made there way on gRX. While the rallyers got to enjoy the sights & sounds of the auction, attendees were able to get a better look at the star cars of goldRush. We caught the STEALTH Gulf Guther Werks 400R rolling out when the rain let up.
As always, Barrett-Jackson was a good time for all. The new pavilion facility outside the Mohegan Sun were a major improvement over previous years. We're looking forward to see what they do with the new space as Barrett-Jackson Northeast continues to grow.
Be sure to stay up to date with all of our events & adventures by following along with #teamXPEL on facebook or instagram. Big thanks to Automobilia Auto Salon for providing us with the gorgeous Porsche 911 GT3 & thank you for reading!

In our third installment of the XPEL Insiders video series, we find ourselves in Charlotte, North Carolina. Home of the SunStoppers, Charlotte is also the stomping grounds of Amir, a man many of you may know from a page on Instagram called Carnucopia.
For Amir, the Carnucopia moniker rings truest with the roundel. Posting up in the driveway, we sat down with Amir to talk about his history with BMW, gain some insight into Tuner Theory, and learn more about the M2 he drives on the daily.
A THEORY OF TUNING
Incase you're unfamiliar, Tuner Theory is a group of automotive enthusiasts motivated by modifying a wide variety of makes & models. While a majority of the collective's members are also BMW owners like Amir, what really drives them is their insatiable urge to make a car their own.
Like many Tuner Theory members and other car fanatics, Amir is always open to the idea of improving his personal rides. His appreciation of German performance didn't just start with the M2, either.
"I think that moment when I knew I was going to be a BMW guy happened when my cousin drives up in an orange E30 M3 with gold BBS wheels."
For many, the desire to do more with our own mode of transport remains tied to an impactful moment in our past. A turning point where we yearn to have 4 wheels to call our own.
"I walked out thinking -- "what was he thinking?" And then I end up with the ride of my life."
And from that moment forward, nothing would be the same. Amir's thirst for M cars would only get stronger as the years passed by and model lineage grew.
EYES ON THE PRIZE
While the focus of our video is the Carnucopia M2, the stout little coupe wasn't the first BMW to generate a buzz with Amir's followers. As a recipient of an early F80 M3, he adorned the 4 door with a bright yellow vinyl wrap and a name to match. "Beem3r" was born.
Shortly there after came the M4 GTS, and shortly after that, the M2 Performance Edition. While the GTS shares the spotlight on the Carnucopia page & still shines on Tuner Theory, the M2 has become Amir's newest pride & joy.
The car blends elements and aesthetic touches from the other M cars he's kept around. Thanks to the team at SunStoppers, Amir's M2 remains protected with full body satin STEALTH paint protection. The RKP carbon lip & rear diffuser add some extra aggression while not looking too overstated as well.
On the roll, Brixton Forged CM10s wrapped in Michelin rubber help anchor it all to the pavement. Add in the addition of our newest PRIME XR PLUS window tint, and the Carnucopia M2 is a recipe for the perfect high performance daily.
"It not only looks amazing, but [PRIME XR PLUS] also has the best properties of any window tint out there."
He's got a point, after all. Window tint isn't just about aesthetics these days - it's a performance product in its own way. PRIME XR PLUS is your greatest defense against harmful UV rays, offering insane levels of infrared heat rejection, and all backed by a lifetime transferable warranty. From an installer as vetted as the SunStoppers, it's a no brainer. Especially when you're running with a group that's as hungry for the latest & greatest like Amir's fellow Tuner Theory members.
"It's been fun - I can point to the tint on the windows [&] having the first customer car, I jokingly put that on my social media only to have the guys say "I'm 3rd in the world" or "I'm 4th in the world" with a crying face next to it."
A little friendly competition is healthy after all. It keeps us motivated to continue pushing the envelope. It drives enthusiasts to seek out what's needed for peak performance, and in turn, forces the industry to step up & meet the demand.
Keep up with Carnucopia
Getting to see Carnucopia's M2 in its natural habitat was a sight to behold. We're proud to have a handful of supporters in the Tuner Theory group, and Amir's approach to curating Carnucopia is always exciting. We can't wait to see what he does next. Be sure to follow along with the M2 & his other projects as they progress over at instagram.com/carnucopia.
Special thanks to Mike Burke & the team at SunStoppers for their incredible work doing STEALTH, ULTIMATE PLUS, and a PRIME XR PLUS install on the Carnucopia M2. Special thanks to Team XPEL member Chris Hardy for helping make it all come together.

2018 marked the 16th year for the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction at the South Florida Fairgrounds Expo Center. This year, the show saw the inclusion of the John Staluppi collection, bringing 145 unique vehicles to the blocks for sale. With nearly 700 cars totaling out just shy of $40 million, the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auctions were as exciting as ever.
Velos DesignWerks McLaren 570s with ULTIMATE PLUS Paint Protection
As some of our readers might recall, we bolstered our presence at the 2017 WFCT with the help of a bright orange McLaren. In particular, the Velos DesignWerks 570S. For Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach, it was back with a few new updates & modifications.
Along with ULTIMATE PLUS paint protection film from The Sign Savers, the Velos 570S now has a new set of black & gold VLS01 wheels & a rear carbon wing.
The McLaren drew a ton of attention to the XPEL booth. Having a fast car to show off is one thing, but when it's a rolling example of how the products performs in the wild, it's even better.
Protecting a Little Piece of History
No doubt, Barrett-Jackson is always full of surprises. When an opportunity for protecting something special arises, you've got to jump on it. Of all the celebrity sightings this year, Burt Reynolds stood out the most. Since his '80 Trans Am Pace Car crossed the blocks this year, the Bandit was on-location for a little meet & greet. After an autograph session, Burt decided to sign the Smokey themed printed wrap on the side of one of the merch trailers.
With the help of some XPEL ULTIMATE film samples, Peter from Zen Auto Concepts made short work of preserving the signatures for years to come.
Crowd Pleasers & Pocket Drainers
As we mentioned above, Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach grew quite a bit in 2018. Staluppi's "Cars of Dreams" collection encompassed an entirely new tent all on its own. The collection included a little bit of everything, from classics to muscle and even a few oddities.
While most of the vehicles were convertibles, there was one coupe that stood out. None other than a bone-stock twin turbo Toyota Supra, which sold for $50K and some change.
There were quite a few other JDM legends hanging around the auction grounds of Barret-Jackson Palm Beach as well. We spied a handful of R33 Nissan Skylines, a right hand drive Mazda RX-7, and even a couple of NSXs.
The top seller of the show was a uniquely spec'd Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition. Only 50 of the 500 LFAs produced came as Nürburgring Editions, so we were a bit surprised to see one crossing the blocks in Palm Beach of all places. At any rate, the LFA found a new home to the tune of a $770,000 hammer down.
Inside the main Exhibitor Pavilion, a different high value supercar icon sat a few steps away from the XPEL booth. A Heritage Edition Ford GT, presumably, one of the same from SEMA 2017, looked as striking as ever in race inspired regalia.
Other notable additions to the Blue Oval's base included the infamous Mustang Bullitt, as well as the first new Ford Ranger we've seen in the wild.
Next Stop: Mohegan Sun
All in all, this year's Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach was another awesome event for buyers, sellers, and show-goers alike. Between record setting attendance, high value automobiles and the enthusiasm of ownership, Barrett Jackson is just the type of place we like to be.
In a handful of months, you'll be able to catch us back in the action at the Mohegan Sun for Barrett-Jackson Northeast. If you're going to the show, don't hesitate to stop by the booth & say hi!
A few weeks before we brought a Bugatti Chiron to SEMA in Las Vegas, we found ourselves in West Palm Beach. Window Film Mag kicked off the annual International Window Film Conference & Tint-Off, and as a Diamond Plus sponsor, you know we had to bring the heat.
Beyond XDC, International Window Film Conference & Tint-Off is one of the few events dedicated entirely to the film industry. In its 17th year, the WFCT has grown in scope & scale, highlighting the latest product releases, informational seminars, and an intense install competition.
Velos Design Works McLaren 570S on Display at the XPEL Booth
Thanks to our friends from The Sign Savers in Miami, we were lucky to have another awesome vehicle on display. Wrapped & protected with ULTIMATE clear bra, the Velos Design Works McLaren 570S was a serious attention grabber.
Pushing an excess of 560HP with a top speed just north of 200mph, there's no denying that the papaya orange 570S was the most high performance ride on the floors of WFCT.
The other stars of the International Window Film Conference were, you guessed it: our new window films! Along with the soft launch of our VISION Architectural Line, many attendees had a chance to play with PRIME. Offering incredible UV protection & heat rejection, PRIME XR is a serious contender for anyone seeking a high performance window tint option. The Window Film Mag team caught up with our very own Eric Keller to touch briefly on both products in a Day 1 video recap - check out the full clip here.

The Paint Protection Competition and Tint-Off
Of course, it wouldn't be the International Window Film Conference without an install competition. There were a handful of XPEL supporters in the WFCT showdown this year, and a few even made it to the finals. Shout out to Jameel from ACE Custom Signs & Dustin from MidWest Tinting for putting XPEL products at the forefront of the competition, and congrats to Andrew & Kyle from Oz Braz for bringing home the gold!
Rightfully so, workmanship & finish quality will always supersede brand rivalries. As one of the judges of the PPF installation competition, lead trainer & installation specialist Alex Valencia made sure only the top qualifiers continued on.
ONE CONFERENCE TO RULE THEM ALL
Miss out on competing during the WFCT? There's another showdown on the horizon. The 2018 XPEL Dealer Conference is coming up, and we've got a competition in the works that will test the limits of any installer. Head over to xpel.com/dealerconference & get your entry locked in before it's too late.
As summer came to a close, we made our way out to Carlisle, Pennsylvania for the annual Corvettes at Carlisle show. If you're not familiar with [email protected], it's touted as one of the largest Corvette-centric events in the world. With upwards of 5,000 Vettes in attendance there's no shortage of bowties in Carlisle come August. Corvettes at Carlisle 2017 didn't disappoint.
VETTES FOR MILES
For the initiated, Corvettes at Carlisle can be a bit overwhelming. The fairgrounds seem to go on for miles. Walking the endless rows of Vettes, it's easy to get turned around and lose track of time with so much to see.
Lucky for us, the bright XPEL tent stood out like a Racing Yellow beacon of protection. Of course, it helped that we were also accompanied by Lance Miller's very own Carlisle Blue ZR1. Protected with ULTIMATE clear bra, this well-known sky blue beauty still looks as good as it did the day it drove off the lot. By the numbers, there's somewhere around 11 Carlisle Blue ZR1s in existence, so we were very lucky to have the vehicle on display again for 2017.
ON-SITE INSTALLS WITH ULTIMATE & PRIME
Much like past Corvettes at Carlisle shows, the booth was set up with installation in mind. With the help of Rose Detailing, ACAP Films, Blackout Tinting, and Detail Authority, [email protected] participants received the best XPEL products right on site.
As the days went on, cars lined up at the back of the tent for ULTIMATE coverage & PRIME XR window film. Our dealers worked around the clock to ensure each Vette received the best protection possible. We received a lot of praise for their efforts, and truly we couldn't have done it without them. Multiple installs a day non-stop for hours on end can take a toll, but these guys put in work to make sure everyone was well taken care of.
Corvettes at Carlisle Video Recap
Want to see more of the happenings of [email protected] in action? Check out the video recap for a little bit of everything you may have missed. Burnouts, bikinis, and just about every type of Vette imaginable can be seen gracing the fairgrounds.
DON'T MISS OUT ON THE NEXT XPEL EXTRAVAGANZA

In February we'll be hosting XDC18, our exclusive dealer-only conference at the home of all things XPEL, San Antonio. It's going to be unlike any Dealer Conference we've hosted before, with a brand new location, engaging breakout sessions, and unique keynote presentations.
