XPEL Dealer Conference 2018

Earlier this month, we kicked off XPEL Dealer Conference 2018 in downtown San Antonio. With insightful keynote speakers, informative breakout sessions, and cut-throat installation competitions, XDC18 captured the XPEL ethos to a T. Take a peek at the gallery above for a taste of what you may have missed. EXPERIENCING XPEL Dealer Conference 2018 If you've never managed to make it to XPEL Dealer Conference, fear not - it's officially an annual event. It's geared toward towards growth, and the momentum created at XDC helps drive us all towards mutual success. We're polishing the format, working out the kinks, and honing in on what makes XDC a must-visit for first timer dealers & industry veterans alike. Check out some of the highlights from XDC18 below.   For the uninitiated, XDC18 might even feel a little overwhelming. From the minute you walk past the Lamborghini in the lobby to the moment you leave the awards ceremony, Dealer Conference is a state of mind. XDC18 Installation Competition A core component of Dealer Conference is competition. The paint protection & window film install showdown was fierce this year. From around the globe, the top XPEL installers fought their way through hoping to bring home the gold. Featuring over $20k in prizes from cash to film credits, the install comp brought a lot of excitement to XDC18. The intricate surfaces of the 4Runner & bulbous shape of the Beetle's rear window posed a challenge for even the most skilled installers. As the ULTIMATE paint protection & PRIME window film boxes started to pile up, the bracket thinned out. After a few strict rounds of judging, it was clear who would take the crown at XPEL Dealer Conference 2018. BREAKOUT SESSIONS This year's breakout sessions highlighted a little bit of everything. Behind the main stage, a bright yellow Porsche GT3 served as the subject for Advanced Installation Training. Attendees could also take part in DAP Q&A, along with a Dealer Round Table Discussion, and an informative exposé on digital marketing. Down the hall, participants could uncover the benefits of PRIME automotive window film and tint patterns. Of course, the VISION architectural & security film demo was a hit too, both literally & figuratively speaking. Guest Speakers at XDC18 While we may have cut back on the keynotes at XPEL Dealer Conference 2018, we made up for it with quality. The variance in schedule lended more time for stories, more room for engagement, and ultimately, a better experience overall. "The Alpha Dog" Jim Ziegler led the charge on the first day, highlighting his expertise with dealerships & what drove him to success. Day 2 brought with it the return of Facebook guru Jared Guynes and his keys to understanding how to maximize social media potential. Michael Vickers helped us understand the meaning of "Becoming Preferred" while maximizing brand appeal with polished experiences, quality service and consistent results. The Winner's Circle & After Party at Pat O'briens XPEL Dealer Conference 2018 concluded in a similar fashion to XDC17 with an open bar & awards ceremony at local haunt, Pat O'Briens. After a non-stop, 48 hour onslaught of all things XPEL, what better way to unwind than with a Hurricane or two? But enough about the after party. Lets' get on to the important stuff: the winners. Paint Protection Film: Showcasing their abilities with XPEL ULTIMATE, the top 3 in paint protection were Andrew Pilon in 3rd, Marcus Wiener in 2nd, and reigning champ Chris West in 1st.   Window Film: For window film, the prizewinners for PRIME went to Juan Botia in 3rd, Sylvain Parenteau in 2nd, and Rob Ruska in 1st. Congratulate the winners when you see them - if you didn't win, don't let it shake you. Hunker down, practice like there's no tomorrow and home your skills. XDC19 will be here before you know it. Regional Awards This year's conference also marked the new addition of regional recognition. From all around the world, the top XPEL Dealers received awards for their ongoing efforts to push the brand to new heights. In no particular order, congratulations to Goldwing Autocare, Tint Tech, WD Co-Auto, E.T., Midwest Tinting, Gulf Coast Auto Shield, Automotive Elegance, Protective Film Solutions, Eurotech Motorsports, Knox Details, Eastside Auto Salon, and Protex Laval for a stellar performance in 2017. The Future Of XPEL Dealer Conference No doubt, the camaraderie among the XPEL Family is palpable. From the biggest dealers to the smallest start ups, we're all in it together, and that's truly what Dealer Conference is all about. Where will XDC go from here? Only time will tell. Maybe next year we'll be gearing up for an XPEL DealerCation on a beach somewhere. For now, keep one hand on the squeegee & an eye on your email - XDC19 is sure to be bigger than ever.

XPEL Dealer Spotlight: Forcefield Paint Shield – Lewisville, TX

What better way to kick 2018 off than with a brand new XPEL Dealer Spotlight? A few months back, we sat down with Kevin & Nannette from Forcefield Paint Shield to get the scoop while attending the DFW Auto Show. While their operation may be on the smaller side, the level of satisfaction they provide to their clients is colossal. Take a look at the full video below & get a feel for why we're happy to have Forcefield Paint Shield on-board as certified XPEL Installers.   A Brief History of Forcefield Paint Shield Based in Lewisville, Texas, Kevin & Nannette Williams are the force behind the shield. Kevin first began his career in paint protection film in 2006, after years of experience in collision repair & auto body since the 1950s. In the early days of ForceField Paint Shield, Kevin & Nannette ran the operation out of their own home. Offering mobile installations & focusing on providing high quality results, ForceField Paint Shield rapidly grew too large for a home operation. "Over the years it took up the entire garage, then out into the driveway, then came the living room and the dining room -- the kits were cut out on the pool table." With the help of some word of mouth advertising & dedication to the craft, Kevin and Nannette took Forcefield Paint Shield to the next level. Now, they have a nice big shop with plenty of room for plotting, cutting, installation, and everything in between. Not only that, but they got their pool table back. More Than Just A Number Relationships are incredibly valuable to small businesses. For Forcefield Paint Shield, that relationship extends beyond their clients. They recognize the importance of providing the best possible products, and in turn, see value in working with a company who recognizes their needs as a dealer. It's a symbiotic understanding; a shared mutual goal of success. "We're not just our account number. We are not only Forcefield Paint Shield, but we're Kevin and Nannette. -- It's easy for us to stand behind the jobs that Kevin does, because we know XPEL will stand behind the film." Spend some time around the Forcefield family at the DFW Auto Show, or stop by & gain some insight on their operation for yourself. What you see is what you get: no runaround, just real people aiming to provide for their clients while exceeding expectations. In a space as competitive as paint protection, customer service is paramount, and Forcefield hits the nail on the head. " I want to make it as easy as possible for you, and I want to do the best job that I can."   If you're in the Dallas - Fort Worth area & need to have your vehicle protected with XPEL ULTIMATE, don't hesitate to look up Forcefield Paint Shield. Kevin & Nannette will be ready and waiting to help keep your vehicle protected and prepared for the road ahead. TX2K17: A World Record Weekend at Royal Purple Raceway

If you've never had the pleasure of attending TX2K, you may not know what you're missing out on. Some have referred to it as "The Super Bowl of Street Car Racing," and we'd have to agree. It's an event that's gone from being Supra-centric, to a full on clash of automotive titans. #TeamXPEL en route to TX2K17 After a brief stop at XPEL Houston, we pressed onward to Royal Purple Raceway for the main event. David set the pace in his XPEL ULTIMATE wrapped Dodge Challenger SRT 392. Consequentially, it was the perfect opportunity for snapping rolling shots! We weren't alone on the drive in either. A few miles out from the track, we came upon a lone Chicane Grey McLaren 570s that was also making its way to TX2K17. The driver surprised us with a lightning fast flyby before putting a few car lengths on our convoy. On Location at Royal Purple Raceway With our tent all set up close to the staging lanes, we were in a prime position for event's festivities. While the yellow XPEL Tundra is eye catching on its own, we opted to draw a crowd in proper TX2K fashion: horsepower. Over the course of our stay at RPR, we had a combined excess of around 3,000+ HP on deck between two Lamborghinis. First up was a beautiful Underground Racing Superleggera. The following day, a bright orange Heffner Performance Gallardo graced the booth. Amidst Facebook Live streams, we took some time to educate attendees on the advantages of XPEL ULTIMATE & STEALTH self-healing clear bra as well as our PRIME window films. We saw a lot of familiar faces and we also made a few new friends. One attendee even told us he's hoping to expanding the XPEL Dealer Network all the way to Jamaica! As luck would have it, our neighbors from Eat Sleep Race brought out a crazy RHD Rocket Bunny S15 with a Nissan RB26 motor swap. It was quite a sight to behold and definitely attracted a lot of attention from event goers. Car Spotting Around the Grounds There was a wide variety of vehicles to see at TX2K17, from tuners to exotics & beyond. Most of all, the Nissan GT-R presence at TX2K has grown stronger with each passing year, and 2017 was no exception. For example, it's not every day that we get to see a line up of GT-R's spanning four generations! Between the rows of tents & team trailers, we spotted a Radical RXC, the same elusive grey McLaren, and even a new Ford Raptor. One of the great things about an event like TX2K is that a majority of the cars there came to race. Hard parking isn't on the event schedule. Venturing over towards the dyno zone, we spied a lone Mazda RX-7 prepping for a pull. As spectators looked on, the FD grumbled to life in an eruption of boost. One of the nice things about dyno days at TX2K is the fact that it's open to all makes & models. Anyone can test their power output whether they're running AWD or 2WD. It's hard to resist snapping a pic of anything that's XPEL yellow. A well-kept Ford GT sat unassumingly near the tail end of the staging lanes a few feet away from the action. While it seemed to be stock in nature, you can never be too sure of what's lurking below the surface at an event like TX2K. Beyond our booth, there were quite a few cars on-site protected with XPEL ULTIMATE clear bra as well. A UR8 Lamborghini Huracan, Huracan Spyder, and a Murcielago sat near the track entrance looking as good as the day they got wrapped. Even a brand new 2017 Acura NSX found its way to TX2K, shining bright in metallic pearl white. No doubt, it was a perfect candidate for paint protection! Trackside at TX2K17 Exploring the pits at the track is an experience in itself, but the real reason to attend is the racing. As Gold Tier sponsors of TX2K17, we had access to get right up in the thick of it, and it didn't disappoint. With our team polos caked in tire fragments, permeated by the smell of exhaust, we ended every day wide eyed & grinning. As a result of our proximity, we may have suffered some minor hearing loss, but it was worth it. Next time we'll make sure to bring some ear protection. From the tower walkways, we got a bird's eye view of the action. If you're not familiar with roll racing, the concept is simple: cars have to maintain a designated speed as they approach the start point.  Once they reach the flag, it's wide open throttle till the end of the pass and as a result, whoever gets there first, wins. In a sense, roll racing brings the rush of freeway pulls to a safer, more controlled environment. With multiple brackets & classes competing, there was plenty of high-horsepower entertainment to take in. As the days events progressed, the anticipation for automotive insanity continued to elevate. WITNESSING HISTORY IN THE MAKING We saw quite a few passes during our four day stay at Royal Purple Raceway. Breaking records at TX2K is by no means a rare occurrence and it's always mind blowing to see first hand. With trap speeds reaching into the 200s, a few measly seconds can feel like a century waiting for the results to come in. One of the first record breakers was none other than a twin turbo UR4 Huracan piloted by KC Howeth of Underground Racing. In the first round of roll racing, KC set a new track top speed of 217 MPH. Working his way through eliminations, Howeth wound up in the finals placing 1st in the Unlimited Class. Excitement brewed over with exhibition drag racing from AMS Performance and ETS. While multiple teams were gunning for the elusive 6 second quarter mile pass, only one emerged victorious. Despite suffering an engine fire the day prior, the AMS Alpha G GT-R brought the quickness. For a moment, time seemed to slow to a near halt. The announcer boomed over the loudspeaker, and the clocks confirmed it: Gidi Chamdi set a new world record. Cheers erupted from the crowd. The media swarmed around Gidi & the AMS team while they took in the moment. For those who missed out, check out the video clip below and watch the Alpha G's insane 6.9 second pass for yourself. Video courtesy of 1320 Video WRAPPING UP & ROLLING OUT All in all, it seems safe to say that TX2K17 was one of the best ones yet. It's an epic showcase of automotive awesomeness, and exactly the type of event we love to sponsor. We're already looking forward to sharing the benefits of XPEL clear bra & window films with attendees next year. TX2K18 can't come soon enough! BMW X5M Meets Its Match at XPEL San Antonio

2016 BMW X5M - San Antonio XPEL Install Protected with XPEL ULTIMATE and PRIME XR Window Film This week in the shop we have this gorgeous 2016 BMW X5M, which boasts a mind blowing 567 horsepower. This is one of the coolest SUV’s that we’ve seen come in the shop lately. The owner knew the importance of protecting their pride and joy with XPEL. We didn’t stop at just our Clear bra aka Paint Protection Film, we also installed our XPEL PRIME Window film on the windows. The owner had all the windows on this powerful family hauler tinted with our PRIME XR nano-ceramic window film, which helps keep the vehicle cool during the summer and provides cabin privacy (click for more information about PRIME Window Film). Once the window film was completed, we started wrapping this German beauty with only the best, XPEL ULTIMATE clear bra. Installation begins on the 2016 BMW X5M When we begin the installation process, the first step is washing the vehicle. Once the vehicle is clean, the installers begin to use a clay bar to remove any surface contaminants on the vehicles paint. Contaminants can be industrial fallout, overspray, sap, etc. Once the vehicle is smooth and clean, our installers will wipe the surface down with isopropyl alcohol to ensure that any grease, wax, slime is removed before applying the clear bra. Now that the vehicle is fully prepped for the XPEL ULTIMATE paint protection film, the installers apply/spray XPEL Installation Gel onto the vehicle, which allows the film to float so they can align the pre-cut kits precisely before using their squeegee to lock the film in place. Once the installers have the film aligned correctly, they start squeegeeing the film into place, which bonds it to the vehicles paint. Finished Product Once the installers finish applying the clear paint protection film, they will inspect their work and make any final adjustments before sending the vehicle back to the customer. After the final quality check is complete, the film should be barely noticeable to the untrained eye. This is done by competent installers, accurate and precise pre-cut kits that allow for wrapped edges. Always ask your installer for wrapped edges where possible, meaning that the film is wrapped over the body panel. I.e. the film would have wrapped around the edges of the hood, so there wouldn’t be visible seams to collect dirt and dust. Most vehicles allow for the film to be wrapped, although some vehicles do not.   Installation Gallery   Completed Pictures    San Antonio XPEL Install Center If you live in the San Antonio area or surrounding areas, contact us today to get XPEL ULTIMATE installed. The roads are waiting and so is your Porsche

Porsche Boxstoberfest 2016 Fredericksburg Porsche Meet Up When you're walking down the streets in downtown Fredericksburg, you don't see brand-name stores. It almost feels as if you had walked back in time and there is a sense of a laid-back atmosphere you instantly fall in love with. It's all about uniqueness. When you wanted to protect your pride and joy, you wrapped it with XPEL. There is a certain uniqueness about XPEL ULTIMATE, which is why you chose the best film on the market. Maybe it's the 10-year warranty or the clarity of the film that makes it look as if nothing is there. Regardless of why you chose it, you have the best protection for your vehicle for the road ahead. We were lucky enough to stay at the host hotel, which is conveniently located at the Gillespie County Airport. When you weren't socializing with the other Porsche Owners, we and the other attendees were tearing it up on the fun and winding roads that the Texas Hill Country offers. One of the highlights of the show, besides meeting our friends and fellow enthusiasts, is the drive on The Three Sisters (AKA The Twisted Sisters) that is held on Saturday morning. Which is without a doubt, one of the best driving roads in Texas that we've seen yet. More information can be found here: The Twisted Sisters Drive  "This 100-mile loop is, without a doubt, among the best, most challenging motorcycle roads in the state. The route follows canyons and climbs jagged, steep hills; the roads offer many tight, twisty curves with sheer drop offs alongside and not much in the way of guardrails. In one 15-mile section, there are approximately 65 curves! Experienced riders bliss out on this ride. Beginners are cautioned to focus on the road—even when a panoramic vista pops up along the way. Don’t forget to top off the gas tank before heading out." Every year we look forward to meeting with the Porsche Club in Fredericksburg, Texas, and it seems like every year the attendance grows and there are more XPEL wrapped Porsche's that attend. What is Boxstoberfest? The people that best describe it are the organizers of the event: "Boxstoberfest is a low-key weekend filled with fun Porsche events in a great location. The 17th annual Boxstoberfest is scheduled for the weekend of September 9 - 11, 2016. While geared towards the Boxster, Boxstoberfest welcomes Cayman owners and owners of other Porsche models. As in past gatherings, Fredericksburg, Texas - about 1 hour north of San Antonio - will host Boxstoberfest 2016. Fredericksburg sits at the eastern edge of the great roads of the Texas Hill Country and is known for its deep-rooted German heritage." Boxstoberfest.com  Event Photos What is XPEL ULTIMATE? Lamborghini’s Texas Running of the Bulls 2014

Lamborghini - Since 1963 Texas Running of the Bulls is a four day event hosted by the Lamborghini Club of Texas. Proceeds from the event benefit The 100 Club, an organization that financially rescues the dependents of firefighters and law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty by paying their debts and providing an education for their children. Every year the club tries to make it out to a race track for some apex hitting fun. This year was no exception, with a day at Circuit of the Americas on the schedule. Bulls on Parade People from all over come to the event, with some owners shipping their cars to the event. Including the famed Batventador, that was shipped all the way from sunny Southern California. The majority of the group was from the Texas area. The event started in Houston for a night of drinks and hellos. The next afternoon we all formed a convoy and drove to Austin, Texas in one brightly colored Italian train. Saturday was track day at COTA followed by the banquet. Sunday was Escotico Italiano, a celebration of exotic Italian automobiles at one of the most beautiful places in the Texas hill country. The Oasis on Lake Travis. There are many different types of car enthusiasts, and after spending time with the Lamborghini crowd it's easy to see that they are a very dedicated bunch. A couple of the owners brought more than one of their Lamborghini's to the event.  To a car guy, there's almost nothing sweeter than seeing a car shoot down the front straight of Circuit of the Americas, it's just a plus when that particular car is an Aventador with a really nice exhaust. Watch the video below to see the Batventador scream down the front straight of COTA. Another owner bought a black Gallardo that previously had a competitors film installed. He wasn't happy with the texture and look of the older film, so when we told him we were doing installs on-site he jumped at the chance! We removed the old film from his hood and replaced it with XPEL ULTIMATE. XPEL Austin installer Chris Evenson did the install on-site, in garage 1 at Circuit of the Americas, a cool experience in itself.     XPEL Ultimate Self-healing Clear Bra XPEL ULTIMATE leads the industry with it's clarity, durability, gloss retention and more. We stand behind our product 100%, so much so that ULTIMATE has a 10-year warranty covering defects such as yellowing, cracking, staining, blistering and/or delaminating. Protecting your car has many benefits. It will help maintain your car’s factory finish, make your car easier to clean, help the resale value of your vehicle, all while it is being protected from every day driving. Demonstration of our XPEL ULTIMATE self-healing properties Our XPEL ULTIMATE film self-heals from light scratches, swirl marks and rock chips while driving or maintaining your vehicle. During the show we use a Brass wire brush to simulate the every day occurrences that can affect the film. With the sun on the display the scratches from the brush instantly disappear. When the sun is not available, you can accelerate the healing process with a cup of warm water or a heat source. Not all Patterns are created equal At XPEL we pride ourselves on our pre-cut pattern software. By using a pre-cut pattern you’ll have less to worry about, since the installer will not be trimming the film on your vehicle. Using a pre-cut pattern the film will naturally fit without excessive stretching or contortion, which means the finished product not only lines up perfectly but is free of defects which could be visible once the install is finished. Contrary to what some may believe it’s possible to wrap edges using a computer cut pattern which gives you a much better protection and installation. With XPEL Technologies Corp., all patterns are available with precision cut wrapped edges where possible. Where a wrapped edge is not possible, for example around the parking sensors on a bumper, reverse cameras and more, the film is always machine cut with precision. You can pick and choose your coverage options. Door handle inserts, also known as door cups.
