Porsche 911 (993) Old Clear Bra Removed and Replaced with XPEL ULTIMATE

Porsche 993 has 15 year old clear bra removed and replaced with XPEL ULTIMATE Clear Bra After 15 years of wear and tear, the clear bra on this 96 Porsche 911 (993) had seen its better days. Years of contamination from road oils, exhaust smoke and pollution cast a yellow hue over the film, where it became obvious even against the car's Polar Silver Metallic paint.  Add to that the inherent "orange-peel" texture of this early generation of film and a pattern design that conjures images of men residing in caves, and you have a pretty unsightly combination.  It's hard to imagine that this was once state of the art. Out with the old and in with the new Today's premium films have moved light-years ahead, combining features such as a self-healing clear coat and slippery, low surface energy finishes with mirror smooth construction to provide the most appealing and enduring clear bras ever seen.  Likewise, so too has pattern design and cutting software.  Instead of having to make a conscious decision between unsightly exposed edges and potential damage from an installers blade, consumers may now prevent both atrocities simultaneously. In the past, this horrible decision was due in large part to the properties of the only film available in those days.  Unyielding and stiff, this product refused to go onto the car without a fight.  Compressing folds of extra material down around compound curves without distortion was out of the question, leaving elasticity as the installers' only tool.  Unfortunately, the more stretch is needed to accommodate a complex shape, the harder it becomes to create a usable pattern for that surface.  In principle, this is because of the many possible ways an installer could (or should) grip the film to perform the needed maneuver, combined with the multi-dimensional flexibility of the film.  More simply put, it would never come out the same way twice.  This all too often lead to kit installations that had uneven or misaligned edges, or custom cut installations where the installer used too much force trimming the film on the car and cut into the paint. XPEL Ultimate Self-healing Clear Bra XPEL ULTIMATE leads the industry with it's clarity, durability, gloss retention and more. We stand behind our product 100%, so much so that ULTIMATE has a 10-year warranty covering defects such as yellowing, cracking, staining, blistering and/or delaminating. Protecting your car has many benefits. It will help maintain your car’s factory finish, make your car easier to clean, help the resale value of your vehicle, all while it is being protected from every day driving. Demonstration of our XPEL ULTIMATE self-healing properties Our XPEL ULTIMATE film self-heals from light scratches, swirl marks and rock chips while driving or maintaining your vehicle. During the show we use a Brass wire brush to simulate the every day occurrences that can affect the film. With the sun on the display the scratches from the brush instantly disappear. When the sun is not available, you can accelerate the healing process with a cup of warm water or a heat source. Not all Patterns are created equal At XPEL we pride ourselves on our pre-cut pattern software. By using a pre-cut pattern you’ll have less to worry about, since the installer will not be trimming the film on your vehicle. Using a pre-cut pattern the film will naturally fit without excessive stretching or contortion, which means the finished product not only lines up perfectly but is free of defects which could be visible once the install is finished. Contrary to what some may believe it’s possible to wrap edges using a computer cut pattern which gives you a much better protection and installation. With XPEL Technologies Corp., all patterns are available with precision cut wrapped edges where possible. Where a wrapped edge is not possible, for example around the parking sensors on a bumper, reverse cameras and more, the film is always machine cut with precision. You can pick and choose your coverage options. Door handle inserts, also known as door cups.
