Porsche Cayman GT4 for Planet-9 Founder

Porsche Exchange Delivery When Ken Smiley, the founder, and admin of Planet-9 contacted us and asked about protecting his track-ready Porsche Cayman GT4, we didn't hesitate to jump in and help him find a local Factory Trained XPEL Installer. After all, Ken had a 500+ mile drive home to Kansas once the vehicle was completed. A 500+ Mile drive? Yes, Ken selected the Porsche Exchange in Chicago to take delivery of his Racing Yellow GT4 and had the Chicago Auto Pros perform their magic, wrapping this beautiful car with XPEL ULTIMATE self-healing paint protection film. The coverage areas included a full front end (full hood, full fenders, front bumper, and mirrors), rocker panels and custom wing coverage. Ken is now ready to hit the road and the track. Look below at the article that Ken wrote about his entire experience, that is also on his website, Planet-9.com, a Porsche Enthusiast Forum.

Satin White Panamera Turbo?

How do you make a Panamera look even better? You wrap it with XPEL STEALTH! Imagine, you just spent over $140,000 dollars on a beautiful Pure White Porsche Panamera Turbo. What is the first thing you do, besides drive it like you stole it? You wrap the vehicle with XPEL ULTIMATE self-healing Paint Protection Film. Our Co-Founder, COO Tim Hartt, didn’t just wrap it with our traditional XPEL ULTIMATE; he wrapped the ENTIRE vehicle with XPEL STEALTH satin-finish paint protection film. That’s right, every painted surface of this Porsche Panamera is wrapped with our STEALTH film. This revolutionary film transforms your glossy paint to a satin finish of your vehicles color. XPEL San Antonio was honored to begin this process of wrapping this entire Panamera. We started by washing and removing any contaminants with a clay-bar. After the vehicle was clean and free from debris, we started with our pre-cut kits of XPEL STEALTH and applied to every panel of this vehicle. Our pre-cut kits allow for a wrapped edge, to make for a seamless installation. XPEL STEALTH has a 10-year warranty that covers, yellowing, staining, cracking, blistering and delaminating. Upgrades Aside from the STEALTH satin clear bra, this isn't your standard Porsche Panamera Turbo. This Panamera has been upgraded with a few things from AWE Tuning, which together add a staggering 100+ horsepower and 90+ft lb of torque at the crank. This is accomplished by a G.I.A.C Performance Software Upgrade and a full turbo-back track edition performance exhaust. The moment you're in the driver seats and start this beast up, you feel the cooled seats on your back, the rumble of the new exhaust and as soon as you punch it, you hear the turbos sing loudly and the exhaust roar as you speed from zero to 60 mph, 1.03 seconds quicker than stock, thanks to the software upgrade. Now check out how we protect this beautiful and powerful car. Check out the installation process and awesome video footage below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfJLXXVA-m4 XPEL STEALTH is a popular film, to see more STEALTH installations click here: XPEL STEALTH Now, for the best part, pictures! Finished photos of the Panamera thats fully wrapped with XPEL STEALTH The Panamera before it went in for surgery, notice the glossy OEM Pure White paint In this picture the installers are installing STEALTH on the front fender With the fender installed, the installers are now fitting the front bumper with STEALTH, if you look closely you can see the transformation down the side of the vehicle where there is no film installed yet We remove the headlights in order to wrap the edges of the film for a seamless installation, this is standard on nearly every Porsche installation we complete Always ask for wrapped edges where possible, plus we’ve removed the Porsche emblem for a seamless hood installation STEALTH looks absolutely phenomenal on this Pure White Panamera The roof is fully wrapped with STEALTH and precision cut to fit with or without a sunroof Every painted part of this car is wrapped with XPEL STEALTH, leaving no panel untouched A great rolling shot of the Porsche Panamera Turbo after the STEALTH was installed To find an installer nearest you, click here: XPEL LOCATOR

XPEL featured on local news station Kens5

Original Story from Kens5 A Dominion home recently featured on KENS 5 as the most expensive house in San Antonio is 27,000 square feet. What about the most expensive cars in the city? It's called coffee and cars: Every two weeks car enthusiasts in San Antonio wake up early, and proudly display their favorite toy, their souped up car. There's something for everybody, including exotic cars. "This car revs at 9,000 rpms, there's really nothing quite like it," said Gary Davidson, Car Enthusiast. Gary Davidson said he has a passion for Ferrari's. One Ferrari in his collection is one of only 800 worldwide: a Ferrari 458 Speciale. It's considered an investment vehicle, meaning if he keeps the miles down, he could relist it later for even more than it's valued now, about $430,000 to $490,000. Davidson is not the only one in the Alamo City that shares a love for beautiful cars like this. "Some people just put these in the garage and look at it, I like to get them out in the street and really have fun with them," said Dave Gordon, Car Enthusiast. Gordon has a garage of 20 cars, but he has a real drive for Lamborghini's. "They hunt you down, they take pictures of you," said Gordon. "If you're going down the highway they'll speed up behind you and take pictures." Gordon said his passion for cars started as a young boy, so after working hard in life, he has no problem living out his dream of having a garage like his. "The Countach, that markets gone really high that's almost 500,000, the Murcielago running around 200,000 right now, the Diablo is probably low 200s," said Gordon. While those numbers might seem mind boggling, for some there are even more expensive vehicles out on our roads. "It's really a product for anyone who wants to keep their car looking new," said David Dick, XPEL Technologies Regional Manager. At XPEL they specialize in protective film for vehicles. It's similar to what you put on your cell phone to protect the screen from scratches. Because of that, the company often sees very expensive vehicles like Ferrari's. They also worked on a Bugatti, as well as a couple of LaFerrari's, vehicle's well over the million dollar mark. "Its going to range anywhere from 1.5 million all the way up to 2 million on the Bugatti's," said Dick. "The LaFerraris they sticker typically 1.7 to 1.8, but they're immediately already going up in value and worth somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 million dollars," said Dick. At XPEL Technologies, employees manufacture a paint protection film called 'XPEL ULTIMATE.' "Think about window tint squeegeed to glass. This is a paint protection polyurethane film that's squeegeed to the automotive clear coat of an automobile," said David Dick of XPEL Technologies. The product protects cars from certain types of damage. "[That includes] rock chips, bugs etching in the front or any road debris," Dick said. Their specialists work on all sorts of cars. "You see anything from 2015 Mustang to a 2015 McLaren 650S Spider," said Dick. Each car takes between a half and a full day to finish. "Our guys have been well trained, and we are very careful with how we work on the vehicles," Dick said. Training for this job typically takes between three and six months on the job, and installers end up making between $40,000 and $60,000 a year. Porsches 2 Ohio – Granville, Ohio

P2O, Porsches 2 Ohio 2015 Featuring XPEL ULTIMATE and '15 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet It was a chilly, bright and early July morning in Granville Ohio for the official start of P2O, Porsches 2 Ohio. The Porsches started arriving at 6:30am to the already closed main street, where the show was being hosted. Yes, they closed down the main street that connects the town of Granville, Ohio. The vendors and Sponsors were finished with there set up, and started greeting Porsche enthusiasts as they began to wipe down their vehicles. Then we heard these two magnificent Porsches arriving, a Cayman Race Car and the 887 horsepower, $929,000 Porsche 918 Spyder. These two beauties were the center of attention for the entire show. We only wish they were protected with XPEL ULTIMATE. Get an installation quote from a XPEL Installer. Gold Rush Rally 7 2015

Driving Fast, Looking Good, and Staying Cool at the goldRush Rally Protect Your Supercar with XPEL's Invisible Suit of Armor Turn over the keys to a $2.5 million Bugatti Veyron to most people and they might think twice about running it hard on the streets and tracks that make up the legendary cross-country goldRush Rally. Spread over eight days and eight cities between San Diego and Miami, the 2015 edition of the rally, goldRush7, included a mixture of cruising and partying at the nation’s hottest spots, with intense track days and exotic drag races at venues like the Circuit of the Americas outside Austin, Texas. The Veyron owner might be excused for leaving the car in the garage and wiping it with a chamois—safe from gravel rash, bug splatter and door dings. But when the official movie from goldRush7 is released on Nov. 5, at SEMA in Las Vegas, you’ll see not just one but two of the world’s most expensive production cars ripping up the track in Texas. The confidence to ride those—and dozens of other exotic supercars—hard in the Texas heat comes in part from cutting edge protection provided by XPEL ULTIMATE self-healing film. Stones, road debris, tar and bugs (and even a stray spilled cocktail) can’t penetrate XPEL’s ultra-thin, durable clear coat. And when the protective film does get marked by a wayward piece of gravel, the heat of the sun (or a glass of hot water) will heal the top layer of polymer. This ultimate level of paint protection is why many of the cars entered in the goldRush7 made the run fully wrapped in XPEL film. Here are just a few running at the Circuit of the Americas: The Proof is in the Presentation Car enthusiasts at the Austin and Miami rally looking for proof of XPEL’s self-healing protection could see it happen right in front of them in the pre-race staging area. Aggressive scratches and swirl marks made in the film with a brass wire brush disappeared instantly in the warm sun. At some of the cooler nighttime venues, drivers cleared marks from gravel strikes with a cup of warm water or a hair dryer. As seen below: Trust Your Car to the Best Whether the most important car to you is a $2.5 million supercar or a $25,000 daily-driver, you’re looking for the same things when it comes to protection. You want to be able show off the shine and new-car finish without worrying about dirt and damage from driving or your parking environment. XPEL Ultimate leads the industry in protection, performance, and post-sale support. Your investment in your car will be protected by XPEL’s 10-year warranty against yellowing, cracking, staining, blistering, or delaminating. Fit is Just as Important as Finish The finest suit money can buy isn’t fun to wear if it doesn’t fit. XPEL Ultimate is the choice for so many car owners because the film itself comes pre-cut by state-of-the-art pattern software. Instead of relying on a technician to trim and fold traditional protective film, XPEL fits like a glove—whether you’re covering your entire car or just damage-prone areas like the bumper, nose, headlights, door-handle inserts, or luggage compartment. It’s precision you can’t see—no folds, no wrinkles, no gauzy haze distracting the view of the car beneath. It’s like having an invisible suit of custom-tailored armor for your car. Bonus Pictures from the Track

StarTech with the Mercedes-Benz Club of America

Featuring XPEL and Mercedes-Benz Club of America StarTech 2015 was in Cincinnati Ohio this year and it was a great event! We arrived Friday morning June 12th at the Cincinnati Airport and headed to the host hotel, The DoubleTree by Hilton. When we arrived there was a Show and Shine in progress in the parking lot, with all different years of Mercedes-Benz's in attendance. After we set up our booth inside the event area, we were able to go outside and take a look at all of the beautiful Mercedes' that were parked outside. Mercedes Benz USA and The Cincinnati Reds partnered together to secure the Mercedes-Benz Diamond Club at the Cincinnati Reds Stadium for the official Welcome Party for StarTech 2015. Around 7pm that night we drove to a special entrance under the stadium at the Great American Ballpark, and entered the Mercedes-Benz Diamond club, red carpet style. Before we started the social hour and dinner, the organizers gave us brief history lesson about the Mercedes-Benz and The Cincinnati Reds; we all know Mercedes-Benz produced one of the first cars, the Benz Patent Motorwagen in 1886, but did you know that The Cincinnati Reds became the 1st professional baseball team 25 years earlier than that in 1861? After they started serving drinks and great tasting hors d'oeuvres they invited us out into the stadium at field level and we had a chance to relax in the Posh Diamond Club seats and take a stroll into the dugout for pictures. It was a truly awesome experience, we got to walk on the same field Ken Griffey Jr played on while he was with the Cincinnati Reds! Saturday night dinner Banquet sponsored by XPEL Pictures from the show XPEL Ultimate Self-healing Clear Bra XPEL ULTIMATE leads the industry with it's clarity, durability, gloss retention and more. "Mad Mike" Taylor began explaining his involvement with Nissan, for the people that did not know the story. Michael, better known to the car community as "Mad Mike," lobbied company officials to bring the "Z" back after Nissan killed it from production in 1996. During the speech at Nismo Fiesta, Mad Mike explained that when he went to Japan to get the "Z" back he met with Yutaka Katayama, also known to the car community as "Mr. K." Mr. K is known as the father of the Z. So naturally these two car enthusiasts got along very well. Skip ahead a few years and in 2003 the "Z" was reborn. Barrett Jackson West Palm Beach with XPEL and The Sign Savers

Barrett Jackson: West Palm Beach Edition 2015 Featuring XPEL and The Sign Savers of Miami We arrived in West Palm Beach, Florida and the weather was beautiful, the sun was shining and it had yet to rain. The 13th annual Barrett Jackson West Palm Beach started bright and early on a beautiful Florida morning April 17th and concluded on April 19th, 2015. The first car rolled across the block at approximately 11am local time. We had plenty of face-time with previous customers and potential customers while showing off the great installation on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 that the The Sign Savers of Miami, Florida installed. The Z06 was completely wrapped with XPEL ULTIMATE self-healing paint protection film. The following are all protected from rocks, bug acids, bird droppings and more: the bumper, hood, headlights, fenders, mirrors, doors, rock panels, roof, rear hatch, rear quarters, and rear bumper. It was reported that the owner is an avid racer and takes his vehicle to the race track, which is perfect because it is protected with XPEL ULTIMATE. One of the more talked about cars during the auction was Herbie The Love Bug. The "oil squirter", made famous by its design to squirt oil out of the passenger side wheel well, it squirted oil on the police officers foot in the 1977 film "Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo." After the films were done, the car passed through the hands of a few private owners and museums before being fully restored to his glory days. Now that the car was in pristine condition and it is one of the last ones that are in drive-able condition, the owner decided to put it up for sale. Unlike the movie the car did not drive itself, so the Barrett Jackson drivers drove it across the block...and the car brought a staggering $126,500 USD at auction! Statistics from Barrett Jackson: West Palm Beach The 13th Annual Barrett Jackson West Palm Beach brought in a staggering 60,000+ people! “This was one of the most successful Palm Beach collector car auction in our history,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. We stand behind our product 100%, so much so that ULTIMATE has a 10-year warranty covering defects such as yellowing, cracking, staining, blistering and/or delaminating. Protecting your car has many benefits. It will help maintain your car’s factory finish, make your car easier to clean, help the resale value of your vehicle, all while it is being protected from every day driving. Demonstration of our XPEL ULTIMATE self-healing properties Our XPEL ULTIMATE film self-heals from light scratches, swirl marks and rock chips while driving or maintaining your vehicle. During the show we use a Brass wire brush to simulate the every day occurrences that can affect the film. With the sun on the display the scratches from the brush instantly disappear. When the sun is not available, you can accelerate the healing process with a cup of warm water or a heat source. Not all Patterns are created equal At XPEL we pride ourselves on our pre-cut pattern software. By using a pre-cut pattern you’ll have less to worry about, since the installer will not be trimming the film on your vehicle. Using a pre-cut pattern the film will naturally fit without excessive stretching or contortion, which means the finished product not only lines up perfectly but is free of defects which could be visible once the install is finished. Contrary to what some may believe it’s possible to wrap edges using a computer cut pattern which gives you a much better protection and installation. With XPEL Technologies Corp., all patterns are available with precision cut wrapped edges where possible. Where a wrapped edge is not possible, for example around the parking sensors on a bumper, reverse cameras and more, the film is always machine cut with precision.
