Porsche – A Driver’s Car

In the automotive world there are usually just two kinds of people. Those who see cars as a mode of transport from A to B, and then those who appreciate cars for what they are. Here at XPEL we are the latter. Yes cars get us to and from the office, but they are so much more than that. On a nice twisty road where you can feel the suspension flex through the corner, and hear the exhaust note scream at you as you rev higher and higher is when you truly understand and appreciate the car as a machine. That’s what Porsche is all about. This year the Porsche 911 Carrera won MotorTrend’s Best Driver’s Car Contest just after the 911 Carrera 2S took home the prize a year earlier. The car didn’t win because of it’s quarter mile time, or 60-0 braking distance, rather for the way it makes you feel behind the wheel. The annual Boxstoberfest in Fredericksburg, Texas celebrates exactly that.

15th Annual Boxstoberfest

This year marks 15 years for Boxstoberfest. The event started when the Boxster was introduced back in 1996-1997 when a handful of Boxster owners got together to drive the hill country and talk about their brand new Porsche’s. Now after over a decade the event is bigger than ever. Over 200 participants showed up this year at the Hangar Hotel in Fredericksburg, Texas, a beautiful little town nestled in the hills of central Texas.

Everyone got settled in Friday night and prepped their cars for the next day’s outings. Saturday was the event’s big day. After eating breakfast everyone gathered for a drivers meeting. The agenda for the day was to drive the Three Sisters (AKA THE TWISTED SISTERS) route through the Texas hill country. Those of you that have driven on these roads know exactly how thrilling that route can be. The Three Sisters is nationally known as being in the top 5 best driving roads in the country. After a few hours of long sweepers, tight crests, and hitting every apex possible it was time for lunch. After a catered BBQ meal, it was back on the road to finish the route. More beautiful rolling hills and tall standing oak trees awaited us on our twisted way back to the Hangar. Saturday evening featured a banquet, offering a chance to relax and share our adventures that day. There was even a surprise proposal that night! She said yes.

Protection you can trust

Just as our Eastern US Account Manager David Campbell said in the video, “we love cars” and here at XPEL we want you to have confidence while you drive. With our paint protection film on your car you’ll have the piece of mind, and confidence to drive in road rallies, highway traffic, and every other situation down the road. Our XPEL Porsche put a fair share of miles on the clock that weekend, we had a couple bug guts to clean off, but not a nick or scratch in the high impact areas of the car that are protected by our ULTIMATE film including the full hood, front fenders, front bumper, headlights, and mirrors. XPEL ULTIMATE is self-healing, stain resistant (non-yellowing), texture free (no orange peel), and comes with a 10 year warranty. Utilizing our Design Access Program pre-cut pattern software we have over 87,000 kits for various makes and models. To learn more about XPEL or to find the nearest installer visit us at XPEL.com

We were happy to be part of the event and look forward to next year, thank-you to all who came out and visited our booth. Here is our video recap and photo thread from the event.

XPEL Ultimate Self-healing Clear Bra

XPEL ULTIMATE leads the industry with it’s clarity, durability, gloss retention and more. We stand behind our product 100%, so much so that ULTIMATE has a 10-year warranty covering defects such as yellowing, cracking, staining, blistering and/or delaminating.

Protecting your car has many benefits. It will help maintain your car’s factory finish, make your car easier to clean, help the resale value of your vehicle, all while it is being protected from every day driving.

Demonstration of our XPEL ULTIMATE self-healing properties

Our XPEL ULTIMATE film self-heals from light scratches, swirl marks and rock chips while driving or maintaining your vehicle. During the show we use a Brass wire brush to simulate the every day occurrences that can affect the film. With the sun on the display the scratches from the brush instantly disappear. When the sun is not available, you can accelerate the healing process with a cup of warm water or a heat source.

Not all Patterns are created equal

At XPEL we pride ourselves on our pre-cut pattern software. By using a pre-cut pattern you’ll have less to worry about, since the installer will not be trimming the film on your vehicle. Using a pre-cut pattern the film will naturally fit without excessive stretching or contortion, which means the finished product not only lines up perfectly but is free of defects which could be visible once the install is finished.

Contrary to what some may believe it’s possible to wrap edges using a computer cut pattern which gives you a much better protection and installation. With XPEL Technologies Corp., all patterns are available with precision cut wrapped edges where possible. Where a wrapped edge is not possible, for example around the parking sensors on a bumper, reverse cameras and more, the film is always machine cut with precision.

You can pick and choose your coverage options.

  • Door handle inserts, also known as door cups. This area is prone to getting scratched when entering and exiting the vehicle with rings, fingernails, etc…
  • Luggage Area Kit. This area is prone to damage due to items being removed from the trunk.
  • Headlights and/or Fog-lights Kit
  • Rocker Panels
  • High Impact Areas
